Artists and Orphans
Documentary (44 min.)

While in the Republic of Georgia in the former Soviet Union for a theater festival, a group of American performers learn first hand that children are being left at orphanages because their parents cannot afford to feed them and that the government has made foreign adoption illegal. When they meet a young Georgian nun and a schoolteacher who have on their own taken in 116 orphans off the streets, they are galvanized into action by the desperate conditions and oncoming winter.

"Artists and Orphans is a stirring drama to be sure, and one well told. É McNally's command of the medium is as inspiring as the material. A sure bet for more festival bookings and wider exposure through broadcast venues" - David Hunter, The Hollywood Reporter

"Audience favourite among documentaries was Lianne Klapper McNally's Artists and Orphans: A True Drama" - Todd McCarthy, Daily Variety
