God's Next Army
Documentary (50 min.)

While Evangelical Christians now have unprecedented access to the corridors of power, they have a problem: they can’t run the federal government themselves. They need allies, and allies sometimes disappoint. Thanks to the efforts of a small, five-year-old Christian college at the edge of Washington’s urban sprawl, their problem may soon be solved. With the unashamed goal of producing students who will “lead the nation and shape the culture,” Patrick Henry College is training the next generation of conservative Christian political leaders. Though the school has only three hundred students, it has for the last few years had more White House interns than any other college in America. With unprecedented access, we follow members of the incoming freshmen class through their training, their rapid conformity to the college’s many strict rules, and into the real world, lobbying political operatives on Capitol Hill and working for the conservative Republican candidate in the key Virginia governor’s race. Finally, we investigate how the young college and its graduates are already beginning to succeed at climbing the ladders of power and “reclaiming America for Christ.”
