On
November 6, 1973, Willie Steelman and Douglas Gretzler murdered nine
people in a ranch home near Victor, California. Authorities and news
reporters instantly likened the cold-blooded crimes to those told in
Truman Capote's book In Cold Blood. In all, Steelman and Gretzler admitted
to killing 17 people in Arizona and California during a two-week crime
spree. Years later, from Arizona's death row, both killers recorded their
stories on audiotape for book projects never completed. The Greatest
Murder Story Never Told, explores the allure of true crime and its
consequences, while re-telling the chilling story of the murder spree.
