Precious Cargo
Documentary (57 min.)

In 1975 President Ford issued the order for Operation Babylift. More than 2,000 children were airlifted from Vietnam to America, adopted and given love, education, and a new beginning. For the military, it seemed like a final act of redemption. To the government in Hanoi, it was a propaganda ploy or a criminal act, tantamount to kidnapping. For the babies - now in their mid 20s to early 30s - the story is not quite over. Until recently, many of them also preferred to forget. But now- 25 years later - several return to Vietnam seeking clues to their past, reunions that will help them understand their history. In a story about connecting, Precious Cargo follows these adoptees on that journey.
