The Wild Heart of Red Rock
Documentary (26 min.)

People from all over the world are drawn to the bizarre and magical redrock lands of Utah in the southwestern United States. With breathtaking footage, this film captures the wild beauty of Utah's spectacular landscape: its fantastic colorful arches, spires, domes, and canyons, carved out of red rock by wind and water. But the future of these delicate lands is threatened. Already two-thirds of Utah's public lands have been damaged by off-road vehicles, cattle grazing, road building, and mining. Is it too late to save the rest of them? The film explores the history of the area and the human impact on it, from cliff-dwelling Native Americans to present day urban adventurers. Eloquent voices of Native Americans, scientists, and citizens remind us how crucial these special places are for preserving our own humanity.
